Places to Visit on a Trip to Switzerland

Basel comprises the third-largest town in Switzerland and is located along the Rhine River. Switzerland, also known as heaven on earth, is famous for its multicultural places and cuisine. 

Basel compliments this diversity of Switzerland such that any trip to Switzerland or any day tours in Switzerland is incomplete without to places such as a visit to Basel, Lucerne. The place is renowned for its museums and scenic lanes that attract travellers from all over the globe.

While on a day tour in Switzerland, here are a few places that ought not to be missed-

Salento-
The Salento is a gate which forms one of the few remaining architectural artefacts from the 15th-century fortification of the city. One of the must-visit places at night, this gate is also known as ‘the gate of Salento  There are a 16th-century botanical garden and a 15th-century St. Peter’s church located on either side of the gate. One can avail of a cab to Spalenvorstadt or choose to hire a cab all day in order to tour these places.

Basel’s Old Town-
Whether it is for the local cuisine, the hubbub of crowded streets or the architecture of this town, Basel tour in Switzerland is incomplete without visiting Basel’s old town. Rhine Falls-
An amazing day tour from Basel would be the Rhine Falls. Watch the water gushing from 75 feet covering an enormous expanse of more than 400 feet; you will not find a larger waterfall in all of Europe. Zurich-
One of the famous cities in Switzerland is the city of Zurich which is just an hour away from Basel. For all the shopping lovers out there, Zurich is a must-visit. It is one of the largest cities in Switzerland. While in Zurich one can choose from over a plethora of activities to explore such as tour the historical places, wander the city foot or head straight for the shopping splurge in Bahnhofstrasse.
